Beginning in California in 1974, Specialized has become one of the most renowned global experts on designer bikes and biking equipment. In 2020, they decided to move their Auckland operations down to Christchurch. The shift was prompted by a need to find a premise that balanced operational requirements with their outdoor ethos, providing ideal lifestyle options for their employees.
We worked closely with the Specialized team to identify an existing commercial property in the right location, supporting the reconfiguration of the property to provide end-of-journey facilities and high levels of amenity. Today, we continue to support the Specialized team with their property management, as well as their biking adventures on the Port Hills!
With over 70 years of experience, NZ Safety Blackwoods is one of New Zealand’s leading providers of safety equipment, engineering, workwear, hygiene, and packaging. Already operating successfully out of an existing Epoch property, a neighbouring vacancy provided an opportunity for NZ Safety Blackwoods to expand and streamline their business.
A project team combining landlord and tenant interests worked together on the reconfiguration of the new extended site. Communication proved vital during the development, as the business remained open to the public throughout construction. Completed in 2021, NZ Safety opened their new premise without any associated moving downtime — keeping their customers and staff happy while maintaining business operations throughout.
